Ah the classic comment problem. It always amazed me when I visit people's images and their pictures is filled with comments. Often their is ample discussion, critiques, praise and etc dedicated towards the piece. There do seem to be certain factors attributed to this. It appears that if you draw certain genre's or fan art, your much more likely to receive comments regarding the piece. For example I have notice that drawing manga usually provides the biggest responses from others, no matter the quality of the image. May it be from beginner to expert, the manga community seem to be pretty well built on talking about a picture. The possibility of receiving comments increase even further if you attempt to draw a well known manga character such as characters from Naruto, Bleach, or One Piece. The fandom established on deviant art regarding these three specific titles is phenomenal. Than of course you just have the really good artists, those that no matter the genre, because their skills is so well established and built that they just have a good gathering of fans, like my friend IsaiahS.
In the end, I will admit it is a bit disheartening when you put a lot of time and effort into a piece, and not receive a single comment in return. I do not believe it's because no one enjoys it. I think my last piece I uploaded (well the one before last) received 15 favorites in about a week time span. So in there lies the question, how to eliminate the elusive comment factor?
